Vision & Mandate
Vision
House of Prayer Edmonton’s (HoPE) vision is expressed in the following three words:
Worship – Intercession – Transformation
Worship – Passionately worshipping Him because He is worthy
Intercession – Partnering with God in agreement with His heart
Transformation – Seeing His kingdom manifest in individuals, the local church and the region
Mandate
Our mandate is to glorify God and serve the body of Christ through:
Establishing continual, corporate and unified worship and prayer in the prayer room
Equipping others to engage in and sustain corporate worship and intercession
Calling individuals, local churches and the region to be houses of prayer
Connecting people and churches to facillitate prayer throughout the region
Ministry Values
Unity in the Church: We believe that across denominations Christians in the capital region need to stand together in the Spirit to experience His commanded blessing. (Psalm 133, Ephesians 2:20-22)
Intimacy with Jesus: Intimacy with Jesus is the foundation of sustained intercession. (Romans 8:15, 26-27) We believe that intimate time with our Lord should be a fruitful experience that leaves us reflecting more of His image. (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Worship and Intercession: We believe in worship and intercession as described in revelation 5:8.
Praying the Scriptures: HoPE calls the body of Christ to the Scriptures as a foundation for prayer. (Psalm 119, 1 Corinthians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Involvement in the Local Church: We believe in active participation in a local church. (1 Timothy 3:14-15, Hebrews 13:17)
